1. What do you consider to be "inedible"?
2. What do you consider to be "edible by animals, but not by me"?
3. What do you consider to be "edible by humans, but not by my kind"?
4. What do you consider to be "edible by humans, but not by me"?
5. What do you consider to be "edible by me”?

When considering foods that I would deem inedible I would choose poisonous foods that are either animal or plant based. Plants such as poison ivy or an animal with venom are both potentially dangerous foods that could cause harm or death and I would definitely avoid consuming them.

I know that for some animals eating their feces actually provides nutrients and can help sustain their diet. Gorillas eat their own feces that consist of a plant based diet of leaves and other grasses. Because these plants are not digestible, the gorillas expel everything they consume and continuously eat to reap the benefits. As a human, I would not consider eating my own feces because the nutrients from foods eaten are absorbed after the first digestive cycle, and it is

Typically in some cultures eating insects or bugs would be considered edible because they are a delicacy. In my culture bugs and insects are generally inedible because they are dirty and not seen as food. Cultures from Brazil and Thailand eat ants and grasshoppers because of the vitamins they provide and often incorporate them into traditional dishes or beverages (Weiner, 2014).

The Chinese and Filipino cultures eat traditional dishes that are particularly unusual to the foods I grew up with and still have yet grow custom to eating. Balut is a duck egg that has developed past the normal incubation stages and is eaten out of the shell sometimes with the feathers, feet, and bill intact (Lin, 2016). I do not see balut as a desirable food item and do not know if I would eat it in the future because I am not comfortable with the idea.

Most foods in a local grocery store such as Vons would be edible food for my diet. I eat beef, pork, poultry, eggs, seafood, shellfish, fruits and vegetables, and grains and rices. I tend to eat more fresh food over canned or frozen foods and occa eat chips and ice cream.

My dietary domain varies all the time, right now I have been trying to eat healthy food and stay away from all junk food, this is because of health issues and not because I want to. Like any other person I have different ways I like my food and there are things that I would not eat. Something I consider inedible are tomatoes and bananas. This is because these two are high in potassium which is bad for your kidneys. I personally stay away from tomatoes and bananas as much as possible. Rats are something I consider edible by aminals, but not by me. My family is a fan of Asian food and would eat anything they make, not me. I am not a vegetarian, but I have specific animals that I would not eat. A food that is edible by humans and not by me is horse meat. This mean is very popular in Europe (Sucher, p 13), Guatemalan people would not eat horse meat. Horses are consider helpful and beautiful creatures in our country. Another kind of food that is acceptable and edible by humans is a Mexican dish called "Menudo" a mixture of pork, live, sausage, vegetables, and it's seasoned accordingly. This dish is eaten by so many people, i cannot get it through me. Just knowing that it has liver and pork mixed in it makes my stomach feel sick. Lastly, something I consider edible is all foods in which you can recognize what you are eating and is to be known by all poplulation. I am not a picky eater, but I rarely try new things.

Discussion Post on Edible Foods
1. Edible and inedible foods
Inedible foods are those that may poison the body, whether from an animal or a plant.
Such plants as the poison hemlock would kill a person within hours upon ingestion (Tarulevicz,
2012). Foods that are edible by animals but not me are such foods as uncooked meat and
