Change affects all organizations regardless of their size and industry. The changes can be
from within an organization or from without the organization. The leaders have the responsibility
to ensure that their organizations respond positively to the changes and that the changes cause
the least possible detrimental effects to the organization. Naturally, people feel more comfortable
with the norm and thus they are normally resistant to changes. The amount of resistance against a
change depends on the strategy of delivering the change. For an organization to remain relevant
in its field, change is inevitable, otherwise, the organization will lose its space and gradually fade
away. To illustrate this aspect of change, this essay will use the change that has taken place in the
Google organization.
Google is a company that specializes in internet related products and services. Google
was instituted by Larry Page and Sergey Brin who were doctors of philosophy students. On 4th,
September, Page and Brin unified Google as a privately owned company. Since the two were
still students, they allowed Eric Schmidt to take the leadership of the company, a position he held
until 2011. The three became the executive partners of the new company. It was under Eric
