Your Theoretical Orientation, psychology homework help
Your Theoretical OrientationGiven your study of the different theories presented in this course, and some others you may know about, it is time to articulate your theoretical orientation. This assignment will help you describe and explain which theoretical orientation resonates most with you as you think about your future work with clients. Having such a framework is critical as it guides your conceptualization of clients' issues and your plans for their treatment.Interestingly, theoretical orientations are not static; you may shift and change over time as you have additional experience in the field and read about emerging theories and therapy. In this course, however, it is important that you share with others where you are "on the road" to your chosen orientation. To prepare for this Discussion:Review the prior weeks and resources in this course and ask yourself the following questions:• How do I think a client's challenges or problems originate?• What do I think are the necessary conditions for client growth and change?• How do I think change occurs?• What is the psychologist's role in creating change? What is the client's role?• How would I know when change has occurred or treatment is successful?• How do I account for both individual differences and environmental influences in the change process?• Which theory best helps me frame my thoughts concerning my work with clients? With these thoughts in mind:Post by Day 4 an explanation of your current thinking about your theoretical orientation. Share with your colleagues how you arrived at this orientation, what about it resonates with you, and how confident you are about this selection at this point in your career. Provide specific examples from the course Learning Resources that helped you arrive at this orientation.

MFT 635 Touro University Use of Rape Scripts To Treat PTSD Discussion
Question #1 How do you think “rape scripts” influence the way we might diagnose PTSD in a rape survivor? References: use for both I found this video to be interesting and also latent with resources. Listen particularly to her discussion about how rape scripts, how we speak about rape, have not been developed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngrcVMJLAjk Sexual trauma: Rape in the gray zone. (2016, May 09). University Wire. Retrieved from ProQuest Central database. Lohrasbe, R. S. and P. Ogden (2017). Somatic resources: Sensorimotor psychotherapy approach to stabilising arousal in child and family treatment. Australian and New Zealand Journal of Family Therapy 38(4): 573-581. Retrieved from Ebscohost multisearch. Skinner, L., & McLean, L. (2017). The conversational model and child and family counselling: Treating chronic complex trauma in a systemic framework. Australian & New Zealand Journal of Family Therapy, 38(2), 211-220. doi:10.1002/anzf.1214 Retrieved from Ebscohost multisearch. This article is an important cultural companion to the article and discussion on rape scripts that has physiological implications (as we discussed in Module 1, Discussion 2): Porges, S. W., & Peper, E. (2015). When Not Saying NO Does Not Mean Yes: Psychophysiological Factors Involved in Date Rape. Biofeedback, 43(1), 45-48. doi:10.5298/1081-5937-43.1.01 Retrieved from Ebscohost multisearch. Question #2 What does it mean to address trauma "systemically?" DESCRIBE three elements that should be part of a systems approach to trauma-informed practice. Comments from Professor: Here is a video breaking down some of the MFT models as you could apply them to trauma treatment. It is a lot of information. Please do not think this is a full overview of the model, but more of a general overview of how the model could be applied to trauma. The main takeaway I hope you can see is that trauma can be treated through multiple lenses/modalities. There isn't a "best fit" for treating trauma. Research supports therapy as a productive treatment for trauma. That being said, there are many therapy models that can be effective in helping clients with trauma. Hope this helps. Dr. McIntire
