Booker T. Washington versus W.E.B. Du Bois
Du Bois had the best philosophy for the racial uplift of the African Americans. This is
because even though Booker T. Washington pushed for African Americans to undergo a formal
education system so as to become essential in the American society, he did not deal with the
issue of slavery. (Walters, 2002). W.E.B. Du Bois, on the other hand, envisioned that African
American’s could be empowered by being treated equally as the whites as well as gaining high
economic standards. Furthermore, Du Bois’ philosophy considered empowering a broad
spectrum of the lives of the African Americans in the America than Booker’s strategy.
