Communications Reflection Essay
I have come to learn a lot of things since I began this class regarding communications as
in the beginning I was deficient in many areas when it came to relaying and receiving
information from other people. First of all, I was not a good listener and I was impatient. This
two attributes are a challenge to communication and usually made it difficult for me to
understand some of the things that were required of me. I always wanted to be heard but I
seldom wanted to hear somebody else and if what they told me was not something I believed in,
I would not take their opinion at all. Being open minded is very key to communication as it
allows one to listen to another and digest the message before passing judgment as to whether it is
something good or not.
My communication abilities have really improved. This course has made me learn the
importance of being able to fully understand what someone is trying to pass across before
making any move. Being keen at listening is one of the most important capabilities that many
human being lack. People want to be listened to but don’t want to listen to other people and this
creates conflict and a barrier ...
