Select three theories from the textbook.
Summarize the theory and viewpoint(s) in a table. Please use the sample management theory table provided.
Develop a 1,050-word report including the following:
- Briefly discuss an overview of management.
- Include the roles managers play.
- Examine the development of management theories, including how these theories reflected the changing business environment.
- Compare and contrast the three management theories you included in your management theory table.

Abstract
Management is an art as well as a science. We should also bear in mind that management ideas
are not fixed, they are a process. Organizations need to be Learning organizations to live in the
fast-paced world and accelerated changes in technologies and environment. Managers play
crucial roles to achieve this goal which we will discuss in this report. Three different
management perspectives will be discussed as well as the similarities and differences between
different viewpoints. Also, the university as an organization that I am familiar with will be
discussed in which we talk about System viewpoint that fits better. Finally the summary of the
report will be shown in the table.
Introduction
Management can be an art. Lots of top companies' CEO don't have education in management.
But at it is also a science and so many mistakes can be avoided if management can be
approached systematically.
In the book, chapter two, historical and contemporary viewpoints of management have been
discussed. The historical perspective includes three viewpoints: classical, behavioral, and
quantitative. The three contemporary viewpoints of management - Systems, Contingency, and
