an object is launched from the ground in an upward direction at 30 feet per second. what will be the objects maximum height?  When will it attain this height?

please note that the speed along the vertical-direction is given by the subsequent formula:

v=30 - g*t, where g is the gravity, namely g=32.18 feet/sec^2

so our speed is zero at this time:

t = 30/32.18 =0.932 seconds

the distance traveled by that object is:

d = (30)^2 / (2*18.32) = 24.563 feet

that's the maximum height
