Fighting World War II

Fighting in World War 11 is the most expensive singular human activity in the history of
the world regarding the number of lives that were lost and a number of financial resources used
to engage in a meaning battle for global dominance. In the early years of World War II, the
United States through the various versions of the Neutrality Acts of 1935 and 1939 abstained
from the conflict because of the experience and cost of fighting World War I. However, its
stance would change regarding the conflicts in Europe and other parts of the world when Japan
attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941 as part of its territorial expansion strategy. Therefore America
worked with the British and the Allied forces by providing high-grade military artillery and
ammunition.
The Road to War
The road to World War II in the United States was characterized by the Great Depression
era, which meant the economic conditions of the country was unsuitable for participation in
international conflicts that would require the utilization of scarce economic resources. An
additional dimension to the circumstances before the war was the national survey that revealed
that seventy-five percent of Americans were opposed to the war. Also, the U.S Congress ensured
that the executive did not participate in it by passing a series of legislations to prevent President
Roosevelt from achieving his international agenda. On the international stage, the United States
developed foreign policies that foster good relations with countries in Latin America. ...
