It is a research program created to understand the hereditary instructions that make each individual unique. Scientists at the U.S. Department of Energy were the first
to envision the project, in 1986, as a project to explore newly
analysis technologies. Its purpose is to include mapping, sequencing,
and identifying genes, storing and analyzing data, and addressing
the ethical, legal, that may arise from
availability of personal genetic information. It accomplished a high quality sequence of the entire human genome.
