Recruitment and Sampling Strategies
Qualitative research focuses on exploratory research, where its main role is to gain an
understanding of underlying reasons, motivations and opinions. Therefore, it provides insights
into the problem or further helps to develop ideas or hypothesis for potential quantitative
research. Qualitative data collection methods range from unstructured to semi-structured
techniques such as individual interviews, observations where samples are always small, and few
respondents are selected to fulfil a given quota.
