An ad hominem argument is an argument set up to attack the person talking, rather than the issue. That being said, the last one is an ad hominem argument. Instead of talking about "the author's flimsy argument", that person was talking about the author being an alcoholic. This will make a lot of people agree with him, though he really hasn't said or disputed anything.
