Materials and Methods
While the use of opioids had significantly improved pain relief among patients, the pain
that arose from this process was unbearable (Volkow et al, 2015). On one side, they relieved
physical pain, while on the other hand, they bring in pain that is psychological and is felt by most
members of the communities (Volkow et al, 2015). The addiction and misuse of opioids brought
a lot of pain as a result of the deaths and pains that the users went through in their struggle with
the addiction (Volkow et al, 2015). While these effects are known to the policy makers, there is a
little effort that is being made by relevant agencies to tame the progress of this problem.

Furthermore, there are issues with regulatory practices that have a significant impact on
the manner in which these drugs are being manufactured and supplied in the market (Adams,
2015). While it is necessary to keep an eye on the contributions of pharmaceutical companies in
the advancement of this matter, it should not be lost on a keen observer that the regulatory
authorities have left the door open for these companies to conduct their activities. As a result,
these institutions have rebranded various uses of these substances (Adams, 2015). The National
Library of Medicine indicates that in recent years, a lot of opioids have been developed and
marketed as being in a position to address major health complications that are experienced by the
