The religious tradition is defined as a collection of cultural ways, systems, an world
perceptions that tries to link humankind with religion which often have ethical value. the two
major religious traditions in the world are Christianity and Islam, they have a combined
following of approximately 3.4 billion believers around the world. This essay is about the
characteristics of these traditions and their differences with the Greek philosophical tradition
Religious rituals in Christianity
Baptism is one of the many customs of Christianity, it is symbolizes the conversion into
Christianity. It is believed that it makes one become able to withstand the desire to sin, it also
purifies and prepares them for the second coming of Jesus Christ. The rite is seen as a way of
receiving pardon for sins committed and adopting Jesus’ teachings. People strive to meet
religious ideals and living a less sinful life after being baptized.
The act of prayer is considered by all Christians as way of communication with God.
They pray before day to day activities, if they have undesirable thoughts or if the is need to
communicate with God. The belief that God answers the prayers leads to a feeling of calmness in
the belief that he has heard the prayer (Harrison, & Huntington, 2014).
