Exhibition Assessment (FINAL EXAM)
“Big Ideas” that must be clearly evident in your project are the following
1.Define “diversity” as it is used in the context of American society and schools. What is diversity?
2.Describe your philosophy for teaching diverse populations. . How has your background and cultural experiences impacted how you will teach?
3.Choose one of the areas of diversity we learned about this semester to focus on for this project.Think about what you now understand and can teach others about these ideas and concepts as they relate to American education.
4.Describe the impact of one area of diversity on students. How does _____impact students?
5.Identify one area of diversity and describe a major educational issue related to it. How does ______impact education, in general?
6.Discuss three strategies that can be used to improve the education of learners from diverse backgrounds. What teaching techniques, accommodations, other strategies can be used to better connect diverse students with the mainstream curriculum? For this section, you may use artifacts such as videos or lesson plans.
7.State your plan of action to continue developing yourself into a proficient multicultural educator? What will you do to continue learning about diversity in an effort to teach and support the diverse learners in your classroom?
Think about what you have learned in this class and how it will shape your thoughts and actions as a future teacher.Create a presentation that could be used as a resource by future teachers interested in learning more about how to honor diversity in the classroom.
