DQ1
Incorporating stakeholders’ knowledge and experiences can help improve the
effectiveness of one’s solution. The reason is that stakeholders can deepen one’s insight on the
issue and ways to solve it (Boaz et al., 2018). Therefore, through engaging a diverse group of
stakeholders, one can gather different types of information to guide the policy analysis. For
example, a kind of information relates to the issue, its scope, and its impact on people’s lives.
One of the key informants for this information is the affected community, the policy’s target
population. It will be vital to hear their lived experience with the issue and its impact on their
lives. Such firsthand accounts provide unique insights that are key to unlocking the problem’s
solution and strengthening the change actors’ resolve to look for a viable solution. Also, the
public health department can help with this information, helping unearth scientifically proven
facts and statistics on the issue.
