Starbucks is an American company that was founded in Washington in the year 1971. It
has its outlets in 23,768 locations worldwide. It mainly offers coffee beverages, baked goods,
sandwiches, and smoothies tea. This paper attempts to explain cultural, legal and ethical
challenges that Starbucks is facing. It also evaluates roles that host government plays in
Starbucks. Finally, it provides a summary of challenges which managers a Starbucks faced
during a case in China.
In analyzing the cultural ethical and legal challenges at Starbucks, the PESTLE analysis
could be used partly. The cultural and ethical challenges facing the company, in this case, are
similar to the social factors. All the problems discussed below are brought by economic
recession which affects the micro economic environment where Starbucks operation is based.
With this occurring, the consumers are opting for slightly lower prices.
