Description
We know that 3.3 light years (ly) = 1.0 pc. Calculate the distance to the star Alpha Centauri in light years. Express your result with the appropriate number of significant figures.

Explanation & Answer
You can simply multiply these numbers together since it's just a scaling factor:
Distance = 1.3 x 3.3 ly = 4.39ly.
An "appropriate" number of significant figures would be 2, since you have 2sf in your original data. So the answer should be 4.3ly (to 2 significant figures).

Purdue University Global Out of Control Grass Fire Discussion
only needs to be about 150 words no apaDiscussion Topic 1: Out of Control Grass FireYou are the Director of Emergency Services for your community. The temperature outside is over 100 degrees, the humidity is only 17%, and the Santa Ana winds have begun to blow. At 10:15 a.m. a grass fire is reported and the local fire department is responding. As these first units arrive on scene they realize that the fire is out of control, and that homes are being threatened.The on-scene commander quickly calls for additional fire units and for the police to begin evacuating homes that are being threatened. By 1:30 hours the fire has grown 10 times its original size and continues out of control; several houses are in immediate danger, and all local resources are now exhausted.What steps would you take and when would you call for mutual aid? Additionally, at what point would you request federal assistance? Discuss the options available to you as the Director of Emergency Services. Provide a thorough explanation for your choices.

MOS 6301 Columbia Southern Workplace Controls for Health Hazards Controls Project
A very important part of the Industrial Hygiene profession is reducing the risk associated with health hazards. This requires the IH to be familiar with workplace controls. OSHA has used the Hierarchy of Controls as an acceptable approach to recommending and implementing controls for reducing risks in the workplace. Make sure you are familiar with the Hierarchy of Controls. The controls at the top of the pyramid are the most effective at reducing risk. Most facilities will not be able to eliminate a hazard or substitute a hazard with another that has less risk, because of requirements for production. Therefore, for health hazards the most commonly used controls tend to be engineering controls, and for airborne exposures, ventilation is the most commonly used engineering control. The readings this week are from textbook Fuller, T. P. (2015). Essentials of industrial hygiene. Itasca, IL: National Safety Council. Chapters 1, 8, and 11. also see web page and a power point presentation in the study guide please review. The assignment this week consists of two parts please combine into one submittal. In the first part, you will discuss the use of two types of ventilation systems to reduce the concentrations of airborne health hazards in the AAP facility. In the second part you will discuss engineering controls for the noise exposures in the hydraulic press area of AAP.

Must go to Zoo, this is an Anthropology lab exercise based on Zoo trip. I will also pay extra for the zoo ticked. Suggested species: sifakas, capuchins, Kikuyu colobus, Francois langurs, ring-tail lemurs. Avoid the chimps – they move quickly, there are many of them, and they have a very large enclosure. They can be very interesting but are quite challenging to use for this lab activity.
