Public Admin Questions
1.A hospital can be owned and operated either publicly (by a government) or privately (by either a for-profit entity or a not-for-profit entity). Please explain ways in which the hospital may respond differently to "The Market" (that is, market forces) if it is publicly held as compared to privately held.2. Legislatures, whether the Congress of the United States or at a state level, often pass legislation that is vague. Hence, the policy mandates given to public administrators via the legislation are vague. Explain first why our elected representatives might create vague statutes and resulting policy directives. Then explain how this may shift policy making to public administrators.3.Explain why it is critical for the effectiveness of a public policy or program initiative to be measured. Keiser University Climbing the Golden Arches Narrative Essay
part 1In paragraph 18 (the conclusion) of "Climbing the Golden Arches" (pp. 439-443 of The Norton Sampler), Nuñez’s recounts several important points drawn from earlier in the essay; specifically, she talks about what she has learned. Choose one of the points she mentions and cite an early passage that supports her conclusion.
What was your first job like? Write a concluding paragraph that shares the key points of your experience and what you learned.part 2 Tell Your Story: Narrative Essay:In week one, you chose an idea for your narrative essay. In week two, you wrote an introductory paragraph. In week three, you wrote a body paragraph. Now it is time to finish the draft of your essay, revise it, and submit it for a final grade. Below are a few things to consider when writing and revising your narrative:Purpose:A narrative essay has a purpose, so you need to have intent and a reason for telling a particular story. Did the time in your life change you in some way? Did you learn a valuable lesson? What is the reason for telling this story?Main idea/Thesis:Whatever your purpose for writing the essay, you will let the reader know in your opening paragraph as you introduce the story. Stating the main idea, also known as a thesis, lets the readers know what to expect as they read. Your thesis may look like this: “The day I applied to college, my outlook on life changed.” Another example might look like this: “Choosing to have a child opened my eyes to other goals.” As you write your essay, keep your thesis in mind, and this will help keep you on track as you write.Story Elements:A narrative essay will have the same elements as a short story or novel. You will have a plot, the series of events that form the story, and a climax, a moment near the end of the story where the conflict in your story is most tense. Narrative essays should also have characters and a resolution to the conflicts.Descriptive Language:You can use descriptive language in your narrative essay. In week three, you practiced describing an object and a setting. Descriptive language helps your reader connect to your story and have a lasting impact. Narrative Essay Instructions:
The following criteria reflect the areas needed for a successful narrative essay.
The essay should have a clear purpose and a main idea/thesis statement within the first paragraph.
The narrative should share a larger lesson with the audience than simply retelling an event.
A strong narrative centers on a conflict building from introduction to body to a thought-provoking resolution.
It should use descriptive language to bring the reader into the experience.
Please see Norton pages 121-30 and Little Seagull pages 58-61 for more details about the qualities of an effective narrative essay.Requirements:

The Development of Racist TheoryThe Open Stax text discusses the racism common among European Americans (and the "founding fathers") at the end of the Revolution. Documents in our coursepack also explore this subject. How do you explain Thomas Jefferson's views in his Notes on the State of Virginia (see the course pack, p.164), and how did anti-racists like Benjamin Banneker respond to Jefferson?

HUM 2020 FSCJ Humanities Marie of France Story Question
Consider the fairytale aspect of the “Guigemar” storyline. Describe the magical aspects and what they mean for the relationship between Guigemar and the Lady.
Guigemar’s unnamed lady represents a certain literary type: the ‘mal mariée’ or unhappily married wife who is mistreated by her husband. How is that theme explored in other stories?
In “Yonec,” how is the relationship with her lover described as though to appear sanctioned ‘by God?’ To what purpose?
In “Guigemar” and “Yonec”, Marie seems to take the side of the woman. There are at least two stories, however, where this is not the case. In both “Bisclavet” and “Equitan,” the punishment of the wife and subsequent rehabilitation of the husband is the focus. What are the differences in the relationships in these four stories? What does this discrepancy suggest about Marie’s attitude toward love?
Note the animal imagery in “Bisclavet.” Which character(s) act in a civilized or “courtly” manner? Which behave in fierce of bestial ways? How might any of the stories correspond with or contradict Pope Innocent III’s depiction of humanity?
Read the handout titled Sex before Sexuality and use at least three of the different types of love to describe love in Marie’s stories.

SOCW 6070 Walden Strategic Planning Process for Human Services Organization Report
Assignment: Leadership and Strategic Planning In this assignment, you consider how leaders can
engage in a strategic planning process with stakeholders to develop a
plan to guide the organization’s evolution and development for the
long-term. Since strategic planning should engage persons who will be
affected by an organization’s decisions (e.g., staff, administration,
board members, members of the community), it is important to include key
stakeholders in the planning process so that it reflects their
perspectives and interests.For this
Assignment, think about how you would begin the strategic planning
process for a human services organization. Consider the human services
organizations for which you have worked either in your fieldwork or as
an employee. Based on what you know about a particular organization,
what steps might you take to establish a plan for the organization’s
long-term development? Assignment (2–4 pages in APA format): Describe the first three steps
you would take to begin the strategic planning process for a human
services organization. Be sure to include the key stakeholders—who
should be involved in each step and why they need to be included in the
process. In addition, include steps you would take to establish
stakeholder support and confidence.
