Introduction
Material Requirements Planning is a system that is used to manage the process that a
product undergoes during its manufacture. It entails keeping inventory, planning the production
process of an organization as well as scheduling the dispatch of the items that have been
manufactured to the individuals who have bought them. MRP can either be conducted manually
or rather mechanically and electronically. In the manual form, human resource manages the
system while in the electronic form, firms apply the use of the different software. The main
purpose of the system is to ensure the availability of the required resources as well as the proper
dispatch of the resources or rather the items that have been manufactured to the customers who
have purchased the item (Ptak, Smith, & Orlicky, 2011). The system also ensures organization.
This is achieved through maintaining a balance in the availability of the resources that are
required for the production process. More so, it dictates the plans that are used in the
manufacturing process, the delivery of the products that are bought as well as the purchase
activity of the consumers.
History
In their most early form MPC frameworks comprised of gatherings of plant foremen,
each in charge of the planning of production or rather the generation of different items,
requesting of resources, and the conveyance of items inside their allotted plant region. Regularly
their ability fluctuated or differed, however, the moderately basic outline and operation of these
plants permitted even the most inadequately prepared foreman to operate them effectively. As
these early mechanical time firms advanced, very particular reorder point frameworks of creation
and stock control step by step supplanted the basic and frequently wasteful plant foreman
