Assuming the width of the rectangle is w and the length of the rectangle is l

So w=2l-4

     w+4=2l

          l=1/2 (w+4)

The area=wl=w*1/2 (w+4)=250

                       w(w+4)=250*2=500

Therefore the equation should be w*1/2 (w+4)=250 or  w(w+4)=500
