(The issue of apologies and financial compensation is also discussed briefly on page 294 with respect to Japanese-American internment in US concentration camps during World War II.)

Question for debate and discussion: Considering the deep and lasting impact of slavery on widespread institutionalized discrimination --in wealth accumulation, housing, education, medicine, politics, and more--what do you think about the call for reparations?
