1) Solubility product of lead(II) fluoride is 3.7x10^-8. Estimate solubility of the salt.

2) Does precipitate of barium fluoride form when 100 mL of 1.0x10^-3 M Ba(NO3)2(aq) is mixed w/ 200mL of 1.0x10^-3M KF(aq)? Ignore possible protonation of F-.

Answer to first question

PbF2(s)  Pb+(aq) + 2F-(aq)

The Ksp expression is

Ksp = [Pb2+][F-]2 = 3.7 x 10^-8

Let solubility of Pb2+ be S

therfore solubility of F- is 2S

hence

S * (2S)^2 = Ksp

4S^3=3.7*10^-8

S^3= 0.925 *10 ^ -8

S^3 =9.25 * 10^-9

S=2.1 * 10^-3

For second question, calculate the concentrations and find solubility product. I will post it in a while.
