Trying Juveniles Who Commit Crimes as Adults
Introduction
When an individual turn into a certain age, he or she acquires certain privileges. A person
who is above 18 years old is accorded an opportunity to perform various tasks that are enjoyed by
adults. Some of these privileges include an ability to buy a house, land, and possession of the
property, a right to vote, and an ability of even start a family. The fundamental right of an
individual who has attained the age of 18 years is to be held accountable for any act and any
decision taken. That person must be made accountable without hesitating. Then a question comes,
can a person who is 17 years of age be considered as a minor? Another issue is that, does age
difference between a minor and a major make us different in the way we think and handle problems
in the society? This makes a conclusion that anybody above 18 years must be treated like a
hardcore criminal in case of an offense committing.
According to Chesney-Lind, & Shelden (2013), minors commit violent crimes just as
adults and therefore the rule of law should treat them equally without bending in the name of
children. These kids should be tried just using the same measures as that used to judge adults in
the court of law. As a result, this paper will analyze the background of the whole situation
regarding how the minors find themselves in criminal activities, how they have been treated over
the past and above all, addressing this problem in the society entirely.
Part 1: A Problem Exists
Measurement of Minors and their Attitudes
Minors these days are bit easygoing for the law for the reason that they do not trust they
will be caught. Furthermore, on the off chance that they get into such circumstance, they perceive

to have a decent measure of the possibility of getting away from the accused because they are
attempted as youth dislike grown-ups. I think we need to get serious on transgression. There should
be a control that everyone over particular years says 11 or 12 years old will be attempted as grownups. By that, we can at any rate attempt and dishearten them from making perpetrating violations.
They would perceive that a wrongdoing like murder would get them a horrendously great
discipline. They require understanding that you cannot escape from everything. On the off chance
that the guardians of nowadays mainly begin being guardians and quit letting TVs or computer
games, and so forth raise their kids, then we would have been spared from this issue (Thompson
& Morris, 2016).
