EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Introducing a new vaccine to the general public entails a series of processes which include its
development, some clinical trials, and authorizations from the necessary regulatory authorities
such as the FDA, approval, the vaccine manufacture, and eventually distribution (Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention, 2020). Amid the Covid 19 global pandemic, public and private
organizations needed to work together to develop the vaccines as fast as possible to mitigate the
health risks caused by the virus.
However, as much as vaccines had to be developed rapidly, all the necessary steps must have
been put in place by companies to ensure safety. Fortunately, scientists have worked for years to
produce vaccines that will help to fight against viruses, especially those that would cause the
severe acute respiratory syndrome. The knowledge gained from previous research sped up the
initial development of vaccines. This paper will discuss the development of the vaccine, a case
study of Moderna Vaccine.
