Relevance of statistics in planning, implementation and assessment of a health promotion
intervention.
Statistics is a very important tool when it comes to the planning , implementation and evaluation of
various activities and situations. Taking a look at an health promotion intervention, the conduction of
various surveys in which would later arrive at obtaining various data sets is very effective. This in turn
aids the planning process of a health promotion intervention. As to the implementation process, data
obtained allows the organization involved to be able to properly model situations In a deterministic
manner of approach and so it becomes more easy for proper implementation of plans to take
place.Take for instance, when a survey as regards a medical product over a particular area is conducted,
if by the data obtained it is seen that the product has proven to be effective, the supply of the product in
that area would be increased so as to properly cater for the need of masses. This in turn promotes the
health promotion intervention. Assessment or evaluation of processes is very important in determining
how effective an health promotion intervention is. After planning and implementation has taken place it
is expedient that we evaluate the effectiveness of the process carried out. Statistical tools such as the
Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) could be used in the evaluation process

Statistics in production/manufacturing engineering.
Statistics in production/manufacturing Engineering cannot be over emphasised considering the daily
need for better structures and designs of systems in our world today. It is also important in the
engineering industry that we plan, implement and also evaluate the improvements in the designs of
systems and structures. As such, statistical models are useful in places where we cannot model a
situation in a deterministic approach. This helps in determining confidence levels of reliability of
structures and systems.

Vision changed on completion of the course
Statistics is a critical tool for measurements, system analysis, probabilistic risk assessment and many
other fields in the engineering world and I came to the conclusion that I would be a better rounded
engineer if I am well grounded with some statistical concepts.
