Description
From the instructor: BUS303 Week Three Discussion Forum Added Guidance
Prior to addressing this week’s discussion question, make sure you review Chapter Section 8.1 through 8.4 thoroughly. Keep in mind that the question is not necessarily about you personally or your personal motivation factors. Instead, consider the possibility that employees work for all sorts of reasons including the work itself, building a career and the opportunities that avail themselves including advancement, achieving recognition, making a valuable contribution, earning the livable wage, having adequate health insurance coverage, building a retirement nest egg, staying busy, and the list of reasons goes on and on. Designing compensation and benefit programs then becomes a challenging process.
Having stated the foregoing, the real question is how do we as an organization attract and retain employees using a comprehensive compensation and benefits program that includes all of these employee motivations and do so in a way to attract and retain employees.
Dr. Michael Reilly, Professor
