Introduction
Performance appraisal is an annual breakdown of the overall contributions by an
employee to an organization. During a performance appraisal, an employee’s skills, growth or
lack of it, and achievements are evaluated and the management uses the report to customize
employee training programs, and also uses it in making decisions such as pay increase, issuing
bonuses, and termination. Therefore, performance appraisal helps set clear expectations, and is
useful in rewarding those who meet the expectations, by offering them monetary compensations
