Uber Technologies Inc. is an American technology company which offers the services of
delivery and transportation in most cities in the world. It has its headquarters in San Francisco
California, United States. The drivers who operate in Uber use their own cars or can even rent
them. In most situations, the charges and pricing of transportation are charged according to the
distance that the rider wishes to travel. It also uses a dynamic pricing model in their charges
which means that the prices are high at peak times and low at off peak times of the year. Uber
offers several services which include Uberpool, UberX or UberPOP, UberGo, Uber AUTO and
Uber TAXI.
Principles and values under employment at will and corporate social responsibility
The agency, Uber, use several legs; principles, guidelines, and enforcements to their
drivers which all narrow down to an agreement between the driver and the company that they
will follow the stated mandates. The agency mainly operates under three main principles of selfgovernance and employment at will doctrines though some are under the corporate social
responsibility status. First, don’t plan; the act is a principle that Uber feels that should be initiated
in order to minimize time wastage by the drivers or even the employees and staff. The Principe
directs that the staff should not waste time drawing a business plan rather should work hard to
close a valuable customer which will act as a kick start into knowing and learning more on self
and business development. It also directs the staff that they should be all willing to test and
conduct experiments in a safe and a controlled manner and from such a situation, will arise
specific knowledge that will be beneficial in modeling the future of the agency and even of the
personal experience. Second, focus on the customer is a principle highly upheld at Uber where
the drivers seek to serve their customers in the most convenient and comfortable way. Additional
to this is that most of the customers wish for reliable, flexible and fast services and Uber is
