The Resource Monitor allows the user to look at the utilization of different systems on their computer.
These are outlined below:
CPU - The processor utilization based on the number of cores and the clock speed. In windows 8, it will also show the number of processes (system and application), threads, and uptime.
Memory - This is the RAM of your computer; it's temporary memory. It shows you how much is in use our of the total amount available. In winows 8, it also shows how much memory has been paged by windows and how much of it has been cached. As well as, the clock speed of the ram and the number of slots in use.
Disk Usage - The read and write activity on your hard disks
Ethernet and Wireless - The amount of data sent and and received across these particular adapters.
