DIVERSITY PROJECT 2 Introduction Diversity in workplace refers to the many differences between the people working in the organization. Diversity is how people are the same and different. People are diverse because of where they live, how they are raised, education, hair color, ethnic background, beliefs, morals, and gender to name a few. These differences can cause conflict among co-workers and can be resolved with employees being educated about diversity. Apple Organization An Apple Company that is located in California is a multinational technology company. The company sells electronics, computer services, and services. The company has played the huge role in engaging in diversity in the organization because it can be the key to success of the business. The management has worked closely with the company by communicating effectively with the stakeholders of the company and the customers to gain the satisfaction of both groups. It is the role of the management to ensure that there is diversity in the workplace to ensure that the company remains successful. Problems Related to Diversity Diversity has remained an issue for Apple Company and also other companies as well. In many organizations, the most common diversity issues have to do with race and gender. When an organization employs many different kinds of people there is an increase in diversity. When they are discrimination found in the company, it will have an issue obtaining goals and objectives. This could hurt the organization achieves goals to become successful. Management, the company will not be in a position of realizing their targets and goals. DIVERSITY PROJECT 3 The Apple Company is employing the diversity in the workforce in that it has white, African Americans, Asian, and Hispanic employees who are employed by them. “So Apple performs well there. But it doesn't do so well when it comes to other races. Its diversity page reveals one of the lowest percentages of Asian workers of any of the sampled companies, coming in at about 15% of the firm's workforce (for comparison, around a quarter of both Facebook and Twitter's workers are Asian). Only Amazon has fewer (13%); the average of Apple's rivals was 16%. Apple comes in second for black employees (8% of the workforce, above the 4% average), but Amazon is ahead with 15%” [Blake, 2016]. There is an adequate difference between women and men because thirty percent of the employees are female. There will be problems in the company if there is ineffective teamwork among the employees if the goals are not realized and the objectives of the organization. The nature of the management can determine the problems the company will face due to diversity. If diversity is an issue in the workplace, it can lead to the failure of the business. It is important to educate all employees so they can have an understanding of diversity to help better understand their coworker and this will lessen the feelings of needing to be competitive with each other. The company then will have a better chance to be accomplishing goals and become successful. Diverse employees have the likelihood of having issues related to their races, ethnicity, and color and at the same time, gender. It is important to train the employees that they are all equal in the organization and no one is better than one another. It is important that everyone works together using their unique ideas to produce good products for the customer and to make the business profitable and competitive in the market. In the short term and long term, if this scenario of diversity is not analyzed or addressed, it will continue to be a problem in the company, and it will affect the performance of the organization. DIVERSITY PROJECT 4 In the Apple, Company diversity can either remain necessary or disadvantageous in the well-being of the employees. Every company has cultural diversity, and it is important the employees will be able to learn from the different cultures of each other to remain active in teamwork for the success of the company. However, this issue can affect the well- negatively being of the employees. One example is when there is discrimination of the employees in the company by their co-workers, the employee will have feelings of being less valued in the organization, and this would also have effects on their job performance. Conclusion “Apple still has a long way to go to meet its diversity targets, but it certainly has plenty to be pleased with, particularly when it comes to female employee satisfaction” (Blake, 2016). Some ramifications if the business does not correct this issue will have the following consequences. The company will not be able to be successful since the employees are the primary motivators of success in the business. Additionally, the needs of the customers will not be realized because the quality of the products produced by the company is of little quality. A diverse workplace involves the inclusion of people from different ethnic, social, and
cultural backgrounds. As such, diversity may include a workforce that consists of people from
different races as a part of the entire workforce. Gender can also count as a part of the larger
diversity issue. Therefore, typically, a diverse workforce has people who come from different
socioeconomic backgrounds, a fair mixture of races, and gender as well. This aspect is missing in
Apple, one of the giant tech companies in the country and the entire world. The company has not
adopted efficient employment policies and thus shows the lack of diversity in the workforce
