cos(2x)+sin^2(x) divided by cos(x)

note: x is the variable

we know cos (2x) = cos^2(x) - sin^2(x)so, [cos(2x) + sin^2(x)]/cos(x)=[cos^2(x) - sin^2(x) + sin^2(x)]/cos(x)=cos^2(x)/cos(x)=cos(x) is the answer. Please let me know if you have any doubts :)
