Schizophrenia indicates a group of serious disorders where in individual loses touch with
reality, feeling totally distorted perceptions or irrational ideas. It is a possibly severe mental
disorder that impacts affects almost one individual in hundred. Many times people who suffer
from schizophrenia have hallucinations or delusions. Throughout Adolescence the brain is still
developing, things such as drug use can have a major effect on a developing brain; much
different than the effects drugs have on an adult brain. Each day there are more and more people
diagnosed with Schizophrenia. The exact cause of Schizophrenia has not yet been proven. The
cause of disorders such as Schizophrenia is most likely a combination of genetic and
environmental factors. Through my research, many of the unanswered questions of what may be
causing the early onset of this disorder in teens will be answered.
