Introduction
Women's reproductive freedom has been a public discourse since the 1960s. After the
Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) was
adopted and the subsequent Beijing Platform for Action, which emphasized the need for women's
rights, reproductive rights have been perceived from the human rights perspective. Feminists have
been at the frontline in advocating for these rights. Their argument has always been that without
the freedom to productive health, women's economic and social abilities are impaired, and
ultimately their overall well-being. This has seen several legal revolutions and changes in

improvement in reproductive health globally, this has not been the case in most countries. Backlash
and uncertainties are still evident in some nations. A comparison of reproductive health between
Poland and the United States will be done in this paper.

Bocian), a Polish NGO, pushed for the successful adoption of the In Vitro Policy. The policy
legitimatized infertility care. Despite this key milestone, reproductive rights are still compromised
in Poland.
Poland still faces tensions regarding the freedom of reproductive rights among women.
Specifically, Poland has been in constant conflict with the UN, EU, and Council of Europe
