Introduction
Lean thinking has various definitions but the most demystified definition refers to it as
the procedure of making commercial choices in rather a lean way.JIT or just in time is a
philosophy that refers to the production of services or goods to a customer (s) within a specified
range of quality, time and quantity in order to meet the customer’s exact demand (Kassem et al
2019). These concepts were first adopted by the Toyota Company in order to ensure efficient and
quality production of goods to customers (Pinto et al 2018). It aimed at delivering goods to their
clients within a minimum time duration and ensuring wastes are eliminated where every
employee in the organization is committed in providing the best of their capabilities in ensuring
the goals of the company are met. To do this workers are constantly motivated to improve their
skills upon the already existing ones and by doing so the standards and quality of production are
always high. Therefore the company manages to achieve various benefits and stay relevant in the
market.

Why Alghanim Company adopted the model.
By drawing references to the Alghanim Company the lean thinking and Jit model have
been of great relevance and significance in ensuring the company’s growth and profitability. To
begin with as a manufacturing company committed in providing their best of services to
customers these two concepts are of great relevance, they help in ensuring waste from the
industries are minimal and appropriate ways or methods of disposal are used (Pinto et al ., 2018).
To ensure this efficient knowledge about waste had to be created in terms of providing efficient

information systems, proper tooling, context switching, good communication practices and
culture across teams. Since it’s a diversified company dealing in manufacturing industrial
products to oil and gas and food and beverages it applied the two model to create and support the
notion of devoting much effort in improving effort as they do project works, when this is done
knowledge is improved and time for holding meetings cross – training team members and having
retrospectives can be established (Shakoor et al., 2017).
A quality brand is also established through this model by creating a system that does not
concentrate on repeatable and tedious programs but rather standardizing them and diverting their
focus on the efforts and skills of their employees, that promote growth, innovation and constant
improvement. Therefore the company is known for growth, originality and efficiency (Al –Tit.,
2016).
The model enables the industry to deliver fast. quick and quality delivery of products is
made possible by managing flow, this is accomplished by devising relevant systems to identify
problems as soon as possible, ensuring work place hygiene, using the mixed production
technique, providing machines that can do work by themselves thereby reducing supervision, use
of simple tools in the production process in order to ensure speed and the primary way of making
all this to be effective is by promoting team spirit and commitment ( Kassem et al ., 2019).
Another aspect why the model is use by the company is to respect people, both the
employees and the customers. Top employees in the industry understand and acknowledges that
to retain their employees they must create a conducive environment for work this can be
achieved by allowing employees to further their education and an autonomy to make their own
choices in providing exemplary services to customers ( Shakoor et al ., 2017). To their customers
they ensure they always get the correct treatment by being thoughtful, honest and kind to them.

The model always provide room for continuous improvement through various means like
attacking systems and fundamental challenges that does not add value to the product or service .
An elaborate product oriented program is also developed to use less time in moving parts and
materials.
Major types of waste the industry must keep in mind during production.
The industry encounters different dimension of waste during and even after production of
commodities. As a company with an aim of developing a healthy and sustainable environment
for business and general public they always face the challenges of eliminating wastes such as;
Waste of knowledge; this type of waste is in different forms such as poor tooling where
the employee does not have the knowledge on what type of tool use for a specific job or how to
use a specific tool for the job. This often cause delay and sometimes poor quality work. An
inefficient information systems within the organization can lead to bad communication network
.employees therefore needs to be given a cognitive but simple information on the kind of
materials and tools to use in designing or building a product ( Al – Tit ., 2016). Bad
communication across teams inhibits quality delivery and most often time’s leads to delay,
unnecessary conflicts and even job losses.
Waste from surplus or overproduction; the main aim of the model is to ensure
production of goods is only done to the exact quality and quantity demanded by the customer. By
this valuable resources are saved for future production (Kassem. 2019).
Waste of delay; in order to eliminate delay in production and delivery the industry focus
on group effort of employees which entail combining of different talents, ideas, problem solving
capabilities in order to achieve of a common goal. Employees are constantly motivated to seek

improvement upon the ideas that they already have. Employees build loyalty by intending to stay
in one company throughout their career, with this they find the opportunity to polish their skills,
which is beneficial to the company in the long run (Karaz et al., 2021).
Waste of transportation; this type of waste arise from delay in materials used in
production. Materials such as movable parts, tools and machinery slows down work. For this the
company ensures that a well-coordinated information system is installed and employees are close
to perfect in their respective skills, therefore allowing them to operate within the given duration
for production.
Waste of slow motion in production; sometimes production can be slowed down from
various factors , Therefore the company to fight’s this by using robotic machines that can do
work by themselves under minimum supervision and employees get to concentrate on other
important tasks ( Karaz et al ., 2021). Mixed production method is often applied to smoothen the
flow of products in the factory.
Waste from production faults; these types of waste arise from production defects due to
imperfections of machines and even personnel who does the job (Satolo et al., 2021). Therefore
at the end of production various materials as a result of defects or a leak system emerge. The best
method of dealing with this is through inventory control and checking.

in your corporation. The primary reason for adopting this model was because of its principles
