Project Success Factors and Measuring Success of a Project
Some of the most critical factors for a project to be considered successful is that it
should be completed within the proposed budget and the deadline and most importantly
achieve value for the company. That implies that it should have all the functions and the
features that were specified (Hallman, 2015). The project masters or managers should be able
to determine whether his or her project is headed for success or failure. It should be noted that
only about 20% of the IT projects meet the three critical conditions for success (Manifesto,
2013). The project managers should partner with different stakeholders to ensure that no
important party is left out in the project. Such will increase the probability of the success of
the project. This article discusses the factors that lead to a successful project and how the
success can be determined.
Project Success Factors and they Analysis
According to the Manifesto (2013), the most important factor for any successful
project is the support from the executive management. In fact, the project sponsor contributes
up to 20% of the project success. This makes the administrative support the most crucial
person in the project and responsible for its success or failure. They train the employee and
provides the resources that are needed in the execution of the project. Besides motivating the
employees to work on the project, they provide the direction that the project should take.
Secondly, involving the users in the project is a critical factor for the success of the
project. Essentially, the users are the people who know exactly what would be useful to them.
