No problem. Show me the system you need to solve and I'll show you how to do it.

1/5x + y = 6/5

1/10x + 1/3y = 5/6

Mar 18th, 2015

Ok, first multiply the first equation by 5 and the second equation by 30 to get rid of all the fractions:

5(1/5x + y = 6/5)

x + 5y = 6

30(1/10x + 1/3y = 5/6)

3x + 10y = 25

Now multiply the first equation by 2 to get

2x + 10y = 12

Now subtract that from the second equation to get

x = 13

Now plug that into the first equation to get
13 + 5y = 6
5y = -7
y = -7/5
