At what temperature is a saturated solution of NH4Cl at an approximate concentration of 7.5 M?

Mar 19th, 2015

the saturation increases with increasing tempearture,

so the temperature is 100degree celcius..................................................................................

how do i back that i cant just guess i was given the solubility table that is g solvent/100 g water.... 100 g water = 100.0 mL and the question above

Mar 19th, 2015

the solubility for NH4Cl in water is theoritically 7.5g/100degree celcius.

we try to find the mass of NH4Cl in 7.5M

molar mass=53.45g/mol

mass of NH4Cl in 1000mL=7.5*53.45=400.9g

using 100mL of water, mass = 40g

temperature= 40*100/7.5=533.33 degree celcius.......this is the correct answer

Mar 19th, 2015

The table only goes from 20 to 100 C and 0 to 200 g

the NH4Cl line goes from 37g/100mL @ 20 degrees to 78g/100mL @ 100 degrees

Im assuming that its going to be on the table i just dont know how to figure it out it wasnt cover and it not in my book nor can i find anything on google

Mar 19th, 2015

if that is the case, then just read  the point where 40g lies, and that will be the temperature

Mar 19th, 2015

i have to write an equation and where does the 40g come from
