Description
Assessment Description
Prepare this assignment as a 1,500-1,750 word paper using the instructor feedback from the previous course assignments and the guidelines below.
PICOT Question
Revise the PICOT question you wrote in the Topic 1 assignment using the feedback you received from your instructor.
The final PICOT question will provide a framework for your capstone project (the project students must complete during their final course in the RN-BSN program of study).
Research Critiques
In the Topic 2 and Topic 3 assignments, you completed a qualitative and quantitative research critique on two articles for each type of study (4 articles total). Use the feedback you received from your instructor on these assignments to finalize the critical analysis of each study by making appropriate revisions.
The completed analysis should connect to your identified practice problem of interest that is the basis for your PICOT question.
Refer to "Research Critiques and PICOT Guidelines - Final Draft." Questions under each heading should be addressed as a narrative in the structure of a formal paper.
Proposed Evidence-Based Practice Change
Discuss the link between the PICOT question, the research articles, and the nursing practice problem you identified. Include relevant details and supporting explanation and use that information to propose evidence-based practice changes.

Nursing Practice Problem and PICOT Question
The identified nursing practice problem is compassion fatigue experienced by nurses.
Understaffing and the absence of multidisciplinary coordination contribute to high compassion
fatigue experienced by clinical benefits experts (Al Zoubi et al., 2020). The use of technology in
nursing is the nursing topic that is now causing concern. As a support for the nursing practice
problem, Mulac et al. (2021) acknowledge that enhanced technology is necessary to manage
nursing activities. The PICOT question is: In acute care facilities (P), does technology (I) boost
work rate and increase patient safety (O) during six months (T) when compared to no
intervention (C)?
Background
Technology has become a significant part of the medical sector, with nursing benefiting
from it. Barcode Medication Administration (BMCA) Technology is one key technology that has
reduced medication errors in nursing practice and minimizes the negative repercussions of drug
delivery mistakes on patients (Mulac et al., 2021). Mulac et al.'s (2021) study findings noted that
enhanced technology is necessary to manage nursing activities. However, poorly implemented
BCMA technology can cause increased workload, disrupted workflow, and medication errors.
Furthermore, it suggests that medical professionals and patients should put the gadgets through
their paces to see how they work. Mulac et al. (2021) study noted many BCMA policy deviations
due to tasks, technology, organization, nurses, and the environment. The article refers to its
target audience as patients, but the PICOT question specifies that the demographic of interest is
acute care inpatients.

Mulac et al. (2021) conclude that it is beneficial in resolving the nursing problem of
technological progress in nursing, which has been identified as a source of concern. A study by
Naidu and Alicia (2019) noted that the BCMA system is one of the critical solutions to
medication administration errors and enhances patient safety. In addition, technology has made it
easier for nursing students to access learning through online nursing education by transforming
education from traditional campus-based education to distant online learning. These technologies
provide more flexibility to nursing, enhancing and improving nursing practice. Langegård et al.
(2021) study noted that assessment tools document and evaluate nursing students' experiences
transitioning from conventional campus-based learning to remote learning through digital
resources. Incorporation of technology in nursing practice is essential as it enhances patient
therapeutic education, medication administration, and overall safety of patients. Donaghy et al.
(2019) noted that most people preferred therapeutic patient education to educate them on the
risks of childhood obesity which can be done through Video consulting technology. Patient
education involves a team of medical experts who reach out to people in society, educating them
on the effects of obesity and its risks, especially to children. The purpose of the study is to
establish the impact of technology in nursing practice and its effectiv...
