The Five Movements

Renaissance art, therefore, is the sculpture, painting and decorative arts that that took
place in Europe from the medieval period to about the Early Modern age (McIntosh, 2015). The
Renaissance is a period in European history between 14th and 17th century. It started in Italy but
quickly spread to other parts of Europe. Renaissance art is regarded as one of the noblest arts of
the ancient times, owing to the fact that it was first associated with Classical antiquity and
transformed to include contemporary scientific knowledge.
