#Discussion 10

In terms of relationship development, when caregivers or parents hold infants and look at them and use certain sounds when they're communicating with them. All of that starts to form that attachment, that feeling of closeness. The babies sense that somebody's responding to them, somebody cares for them. The world is a safe place. The world responds.

Language Development:

Language is about communication, and also about community, culture, and connection.

Babies communicate before they can talk, using gestures, babbles, and other cues to indicate their needs.

When adults listen to and talk with babies, they help them form attachments and build relationships with those around them.

  • Listening to and talking with a baby helps the baby form a sense of identity.
  • Language helps young children make connections and understand what’s going on in the world around them.
  • A child’s home language is the foundation for all other language learning.
  • Discussion Prompt:

Growing up, how were you taught to talk and listen to babies?  How do you use routines to communicate and connect with the children in your care?

My parents did their best to teach me to be respectful and to always use my listening ears to listen to others as I was growing up. I was a shy kid growing up, so I was great at talking to and listing to babies. I had a lot of baby relatives, and my mom constantly told me and encouraged me to be nice to them because she said one day they would look up to me. I use routines to interact and connect with the children in my care by making it a priority to chat to each child on a daily basis so that they feel safe and comfortable with me. I also make every effort to be approachable and show the children that I am open to talk about anything and everything.

The listening skill is an essential pillar that we cannot ignore its importance and integration, which is largely reflected in the speaking skill. In general, we can communicate with those around us and respond to them in an acceptable manner. Of course, stories are an important aspect of a child's life, and reading books also promote the child's development and helps to enhance the level of intelligence. Language also helps him with early learning and many skills. It also promotes child development throughout the childhood stage. The child also uses communication, gestures, and the issuance of simple sounds and calm music tones. This is due to the vitality and movement. They learn about the world around them, as well as the rhythm of the language, as well as the teacher or parents by encouraging the child to talk or join the conversations as much as possible. This will help him to feel more comfortable when opening up.
