Using probability distribution liste

x.       0.   1.    2.     3

P(x).   0.2.   0.1.   0.3.     0.4

A- find the mean ,variance,and standard deviation

B- what is the probability that p(x is at least 1)?

C-what is the probability that p(x is less than 3)?

x
p(x)
x*p(x)x^2 *p(x)
00.200
10.10.10.1
20.30.61.2
30.41.23.6
   Mean, μ = Σxp = 1.9

Σx2p  = 4.9

Var(X) = Σx2p − μ2

                =  4.9 - (1.9)^2  = 4.9 - 3.61   = 1.29

Standard Deviation =

σ = √Var(X)

σ = √(1.29)

    = 1.13

B- the probability that p(x is at least 1) =   P(x=1) +P(x=2)+ P(x=3)  = 0.1 + 0.3+ 0.4  = 0.8

C- the probability that p(x is less than 3) = P(x=0) +P(x=1)+ P(x=2)  = 0.2 + 0.1+ 0.3  = 0.6
