ENT 435 GCU Implementation plan Innovation Description Discussion
In Phase 2, your team will work together to develop a detailed description and implementation plan for the innovation you selected to pursue in Topic 3. Each team member must research and describe a product development or management process, methodology, or model that could be utilized to implement the innovation. The group should select and use one of these models for developing its own implementation plan.Finalize the name and include a one- or two-sentence description of the innovation.Describe the value the new product or service will provide to customers and describe the need it will meet.Utilizing the model selected by the team, create the detailed implementation plan for the innovation. Make sure the plan accounts for contingencies/risks in the implementation process and includes realistic timeframe and budgeting considerations.Use graphics such as organizational charts, process maps, and/or budget tables as appropriate to increase the readability and professional appeal of the plan.Include in-text citations from at least six secondary sources. Each person on the team must contribute an article from the research that was completed on product development or management processes, methodologies, and/or models.Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.I am in charge of 3 and 4This is the Idea we came up with and have to write on: Proposed Innovation Idea Whether it is at the airport, a sporting event, or a government building chances are a majority of people have walked through a metal detector at some point in their life. The point of this innovation is to keep people safe and help sniff out any illegal items meant to harm other people and thwart any unlawful ideas. Another concept every person should be familiar with is taking your temperature. Temperatures are taken to ensure that a person is healthy, and if that person is found to not be healthy to help prevent the spread of whatever sickness they may have. In this new world everyone is living in with the COVID-19 pandemic wouldn’t it make sense for businesses that already use metal detectors that are now having to do temperature checks has a device that does both at the same time? This innovation would start off by being evaluated by using the NOMMAR model of evaluating early innovation. According to Terwillinger (2011), the NOMMAR model stands for N-Customer needs, O-Technology options, M-Potential Market, M-Business Model, A-Realistic Approach, and R-Relevancy. There is absolutely a customer need for this innovation. For current sporting events that are allowing fans, fans must go through a metal detector and get their temperature taken, so why not streamline the process. For example, at Texas Motor Speedway fans will now be required to get their temperature checked as well as be wanded to check for any illegal items (Young,2020). For the technology options, the technology for both a metal detector and temperature kiosks is alive and well so it would just matter on combining the two. The potential market and business model would go hand in hand with this innovation. The business that would be buying this product would range from government buildings to sporting arenas/complexes and could even be extended to schools to maximize the safety of students from both physical and biological harm. The realistic approach to this innovation would start with a test model being shown to well-motivated buyers showing off the ease and accuracy of the product. Once potential customers see that there is little risk and resistance with this innovation, and low amount of resources needed this innovation would be a slam dunk. Lastly, this innovation is extremely relevant to the current climate of the world today. There is a major uptick in violence and unrest within the American population at this time between the BLM movement and the COVID-19 pandemic. This has led to multiple parties being hostile towards each other while also ignoring social distancing guidelines. By having a device at the entrance of government buildings and sporting venues that checks not only for harmful devices, but to see if that specific individual is carrying a contagious illness, would greatly improve the safety of people across the world.
