Yes, I agree with the scholar’s notion that "agriculture is the worst mistake in the history
of the human race." Earlier, humans relied on hunting and gathering for survival. The
introduction of agriculture was presumably the most important step toward a better living, which
turned out to be a disaster since its introduction. Agriculture brought forth great diseases, social
and sexual inequity, as well as despotism, all of which have plagued human existence. There are
several explanations for why agriculture is harmful to one's health. Farmers were able to get
cheap calories at the expense of poor nutrition (Robertson, 2011). Farmers faced famine
whenever most of the crops they relied upon failed due to their dependency on specific types of
crops. Finally, agriculture encouraged people to congregate, allowing parasites and infectious
diseases to proliferate; aside from famine, starvation, and pandemic diseases, farming aided in
the creation of another curse: severe social divisions. Hunter-gatherers have limited food storage
and no concentrated food sources like a herd of cattle. As a result, there can be no rulers, no class
of societal leeches who feed off of others' ...
