The first amendment to the U.S. Constitution established , among other freedoms, the right to free speech:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an
establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or
abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the
people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a
redress of grievances.” (U.S. Const. art 1)
Using at least two specific examples, illustrate how the definition of free speech has evolved as a result of judicial review.
