Leadership qualities are important characteristics that managers must have to foster
growth within the company and the achievement of company goals and objectives. Managers
are responsible for among other duties the management of people, teams, the setting of
company goals and objectives and inspiring employees into meeting these set targets. It is
therefore imperative that the manager motivates employees to perform, measures the
performance of each employee and fosters a sense of collaboration through effective
communication. This paper discusses the techniques a manager may use to inspire employees
to perform, how the performance is measured and how to foster a sense of collaboration

The creation of a positive work environment is an effective tool that managers deploy
