The Social Mirror Assignment
1. Explain the meaning of social mirror, referring to your textbook and interpreting using

Connect the concept to these reactions and explain how that relates to both inter and
intrapersonal communication.
The social mirror visualizes another individual to augment the person's conversation using
additional feedback. The social mirror is used in the context of an individual's immediate
environmental forces, upbringing, and peer influences, particularly societal perceptions and their
significant role in determining the person's success (De Janasz, Dowd, & Schneider, 2021). It
explains other people's perceptions of the individual and the importance of individual autonomy
in describing the person. The social mirror could apply to my life according to what others
perceive of my life since they see me as an interactive individual who loves to socialize. It has
developed a positive attitude towards me since they would like to interact with me. They see me
this way since they love interacting with me and enjoy the stories I share with them to improve
their lives. For instance, I usually talk about challenges I faced early in life and provide specific
examples of how I got through them. Therefore, they developed positive attitudes since my
examples helped them maneuver their challenges. The concepts are related to interpersonal and
intrapersonal communication since they improved my conversations with colleagues. Improved
communication is essential to interacting with others and building positive relationships.
