The graphs have not copied across correctly I think, they aren't visible.
But y = x^3 will start very low in the -x/-y quadrant (lower left), rise to the origin, slow down and pass through (0,0), then pick up again in the +x/+y quadrant (top-right) and rise very rapidly again.
