Abstract
This paper includes a comprehensive plan to help Flagler Hospital improve the quality of
human resource management practices. Like many healthcare organizations in the United States,
Flagler Hospital faced unprecedented workers and space shortages during the start of the
COVID-19 Pandemic. Medical errors have also challenged the integrity and service quality of
Flagler hospital. According to some of the employees' views, the management operates an
autocratic leadership style, which reduces employee engagement. Flagler Hospital has a diverse
group of professionals whose talents are not used effectively. This is the case since the leadership
style discourages views and concerns from junior employees. Another growth and efficiency
opportunity for Flagler hospital is the use of Artificial Intelligence in administering healthcare
services. The management can also improve employee engagement by changing to a democratic
leadership style and frequently highlighting their institution's mission and core values. The plan's
success will be measured using an online survey emailed to employees and selected patients.

Flagler Hospital
The Flagler hospital is located in St. Augustine, Florida, a non-profit organization
developed in 1989. The institution provides excellent cancer, bariatrics, heart, and maternity care
services. The organization aims to be a complete care enterprise that promotes the social,
physical, and economic health of the societies served (Flagler Heath, 2022). Further, the facility
aims at developing innovative practices to promote and improve the patient experience. Flagler
Health+ is a subsidiary of Flagler Hospital that has a one-hundred-and-thirty-year legacy for
community caring. This paper includes a comprehensive plan that would help Flagler Hospital
improve the quality of human resource management practices.
Organizational challenges
Like many healthcare organizations in the United States, Flagler Hospital faced
unprecedented workers and space shortages during the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Increased infections led to financial pressure since the hospital could not afford to treat every
patient that came into the facility for help. Furthermore, the hospital canceled non-emergency
procedures to create room for critical conditions despite bed space challenges. Additionally, the
financial pressure brought by the Pandemic includes the increasing need for specific medical
supplies and equipment to handle the virus. Since the organization's main goal is to help improve
and empower the health of the communities they serve, it became difficult to ensure affordable
and quality care during the Pandemic. As a non-profit community hospital, the organization
doesn't collect enough revenue to ensure affordable and quality care after the Pandemic. Thus,
staff members face serious work pressures having to work more than twelve hours a day with no
benefits. Furthermore, some hospital staff resigned due to increased physical and mental
pressures.

Despite the introduction of different COVID-19 vaccines globally, Flagler hospital
records low turnouts in its drive to vaccinate the whole community. Hence, the organization is...
