"Can Dartmouth Grow and Stay Small?"
Dartmouth is one of the institutions of higher learning the consider themselves to be in
the Ivy League class. Over the years, the facility has been taken into account as a small college
due to its size and modes of operations. However, in the recent past, the college has been
grappling with the decision concerning whether to increase its student population by 10% or
25%. However, observers are of the opinion that the college is trying to make this decision to
take care of the losses that it has been experiencing in the recent years. In 2016, the college saw
its financial statements dwindle, and it made losses amounting to over USD 100. In light of these
realities, it becomes incredibly important to analyze the decision of the college. One of how the
college can objectively analyze its options and courses of action is the use of Bureaucratic
frames. Notably, when the college came up with this idea, it decided to form a task force that
would look into the matter and help in the decision of the way forward.
