Explanation & Answer
In geology, subduction is the process that takes place at convergent boundaries by which one tectonic plate moves under another tectonic plate and sinks into the mantle as the plates converge. Regions where this process occurs are known as subduction zones. Rates of subduction are typically centimetres per year, with the average rate of convergence being approximately two to eight centimetres per year.

ESS 5 University of California Irvine Monsoons & Hurricanes Worksheet
2 question. U can find answer on chegg and google. But make sure it is correct. The discussion activity this week is designed to give you a chance to see how the unusual properties of water – the high specific heat and high latent heat of vaporization/condensation – influences our weather and climate. In part 2 we will be dealing with VERY large numbers so this is a good opportunity to practice using scientific notation (e.g. 2 x106 rather than 2,000,000) in calculations.

1) DISCUSSION QUESTION
Part 1: Post a Response
In multicellular organisms, most cells that are created by mitosis are integrated into the structure of the organism. This week’s lesson looks at what happens to cells that don’t integrate properly, that are not needed, or that fail certain quality-control checkpoints in the cell cycle. Watch the Khan Academy video about apoptosis found at: https://www.khanacademy.org/science/biology/cellul... then address the following two issues:
Describe at least two ways that apoptosis helps animals.
What aspect of apoptosis do you find most interesting or significant? Explain.
2) PEER REVIEW #1 (TIFFANY)
Hello class,
Two ways that apoptosis helps animals are: Producing new cells and keeping a healthy balance of cells by regulating cell numbers. Apoptosis is when the cell comes apart into different cell component. Cells from the immune system come and eat the fragments. This is a healthy process for animals.
One of the most interesting things to me was Necrosis. That's what your body doesn't want to happen. Cells undergo Necrosis. The cell swells up and explodes. It's like an improper disposal of trash. Apoptosis is normal cell death and Necorsis isn't. Necrosis could potentially be dangerous.
3) PEER REVIEW #2 (NIKALA)
Hello Fellow Classmates and Professor,
What was most interesting about apoptosis to me was the Greek meaning is falling away. This interest me because it explains what happens to the reused cells and how it produces body development by keeping cells balanced throughout the body. Apoptosis is a constant function in the body.
Although this video didn't give much information of apoptosis used in animals. Apoptosis helps tadpoles metamorphosis into a frog. A tadpole loses its tail by using apoptosis, which absorbs the tail. Apoptosis causes the tadpole tail to be removed developing into a frog.
